THE BEGINNING
From an early age, my life was immersed in sports and running. I excelled as a cross country runner and footballer for my school and club. However, I eventually grew bored with these activities and developed a passion for rugby, which I played for my school from ages 14 to 17. At 17, I started going to the gym.
In September 2020, I began working out for several reasons: I wanted to bulk up for rugby, boost my confidence, and improve my appearance. My first three months of training were messy and disorganized but magical. I trained seven days a week, sometimes twice a day, because I loved seeing progress. I got strong quickly and enjoyed the process immensely. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 lockdown in 2021 halted my progress for about four months, but I resumed my training as soon as I could and kept at it for another year and a half.
Bodybuilding
Bodybuilding sparked my interest around the age of 18 or 19. I admired physiques like those of Cbum, Regan Grimes, and Nick Walker from a distance, never considering competing myself. That changed when I started training with my coach and best friend, Sam Lancaster, in September 2022. With Sam's guidance, I began tracking my food, logging workouts, and training like a bodybuilder. I fell in love with the lifestyle and the process.
Over the years, Sam and I discussed the idea of competing. Earlier this year, I decided to take the plunge. I have entered two Classic bodybuilding competitions scheduled for September and October 2024. These will be my first competitions, and I am excited for the incredible experience ahead.
